bestchance Child Family Care is an independent, not for profit, community organisation, with over 500 employees located across multiple sites with offices located in Glen Waverley, Bayswater and Pakenham. The range of programs delivered include Family Day Care, Kindergarten, Child Care, Early Childhood Intervention, Parent and Child Support, Training, Community Support and The Cheshire School which is an independent, primary school for children with social, emotional and behavioural challenges.

The purpose of this position is provide management and leadership to the Area Development team with a focus on the growth of services, supporting and developing community connections with bestchance services. In particular:

• Lead the Area Development Team to develop opportunities for service growth which meets the financial and operational objectives of the business.
• Lead and manage the Area Development Team in the effective development and support of EYM Parent Advisor Groups across bestchance Early Years services.
• Develop and enhance internal and external stakeholder engagement with a particular focus on developing and strengthening engagement with parents and communities.
• Represent bestchance on community working groups and networks, such as Best start, Early Years Networks and other networks as relevant to the role.
• Contribute to and implement business plans to strengthen the financial position and ongoing sustainability of the bestchance suite of programs.
• As a member of the Early Years Leadership Team, build and embed a positive and productive team culture that contributes to best practice service delivery supporting the achievement of the organisations vision.

Key Selection Criteria

The following are the core competencies required to undertake the key responsibilities of the bestchance Area Development Manager role and are the primary basis for selection:

• Tertiary qualification relevant to the role, for example, Early Childhood, Social Work, Health, Community Engagement etc.
• Additional qualifications and experience in Leadership, Management, Training and Assessment desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in managing teams and programs with similar accountabilities.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment, with an innovative and flexible approach to work
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage with and manage key stakeholders and relationships.

• Proven ability to independently manage complex workloads and prepare written reports on program outcomes for a wide range of stakeholders.
